Justice Ministry Announcement:
Our Justice Ministry continues to work through BOLD Justice on Jobs in Broward County. We continue to be concerned about the 67,000 unemployed in Broward County. We will be looking for the county commission to address this through a priority hiring ordnance. On Tuesday, October 22nd @ 10:00amthe County Commission will be deciding if they will hold a public hearing on this issue. If they decide yes, the public hearing will be on Tuesday, November 12th @ 2:0pm. All meetings are to be held at the County Commission Chambers (115 S Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale). There is ample parking at the location. We will need everyone who is free during the day to attend these meetings, especially the November meeting. We will all come dressed in a red blouse or tee shirt and sit together to show our support. It is essential that we have a large group representation from all of our churches to support this effort. If you are free to go, please let either Janean Baumal or Ron McCoy know or mark the block on your worship slip beginning next Sunday.
Commissioner Holness, who is sponsoring the bill, will be present at the Community Problems Assembly to provide an update on the progress for this ordinance. The Community Problems Assembly is Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 7:30pm at St. Clement Catholic Church (2975 N Andrews Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33311)
