We celebrate the new commandment:
Love one another as I have loved you says Jesus.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, says Jesus:
If you have love for one another.
And love that comes from God in and through Christ Jesus begins with relationships.
Not quoting scripture.
Not trying to love the sinner and hate the sin (which is another way of disguising and excusing our own sin of hating others and labeling it good).
Not drawing boundaries, but by seeing Christ in the other.
Lord, when did we give you food when you were hungry and water when you were thirsty and clothed you when you were naked and visited you when you were in prison?
When you did it to the least of these, says Jesus. You did it to me.
Our evening Maundy Thursday service will take place in the hall as we gather together for a simple meal and engaging the text in which Jesus commands us to love. Not as the world loves, but as God loves us through him. 7PM. All Welcome!
